Congratulations to all the pupils who took part in the Credit Union Schools quiz. The school senior team won the first quiz and went forward to the next round where they did very well and came fourth. Well done to you all!

Thanks to all team members who put in great effort.
A big thank you to Mr. Lynch for organising quiz practises.

Every year,
Dublin Fire Brigade runs an art competition for school children in Dublin City and County with the aim of increasing fire safety awareness. The children in Holy Family are aware of the importance of fire safety and many of the children enter the art competition each year.

We were delighted to hear that
Laura in fifth class (Rm. 6) was chosen as one of the winners this year! Laura was presented with her prize on the 13th of December in The Mansion House and her entry will appear in next years calendar. Well done Laura!

A big congratulations to Edel in Ms. Timlin's fourth class who was highly commended at the Irish Healthcare Awards, which took place at the Shelbourne Hotel. Edel and her sister Louise designed a campaign raising awareness about the seriousness of food allergies as Edel is allergic to nuts and some fruits. Edel has spoken to the children and teachers in Holy Family about her project, and along with Louise has set up a website www.beallergyaware.com. You can read about Edel's experience below.

Well done Edel!

I am Edel, I am nine years old. I am in fourth class. I have won two awards before but going to the Shelbourne hotel is amazing. First we had to wait in a bar, then everyone had to squeeze into different rooms, then finally they led us to the tables. Brian Dobson first gave a speech on stage. Then Mary Harney. Then it was dinner. I had melon, then roast beef with red wine and some vegetables, and then cream and strawberries. Then it came to the awards, there were trophies and certificates. The big one was called 'An Duais Mhór'. I was the youngest person there and I was the only person to have to talk in front of 400 people.

Well done to
Sean and Dylan from 4th class who participated in a recent Tae Kwon Do tournament. Here they are (right) with the trophies they received at the competition.

Congratulations to Sele from 4th class also, who is pictured (left) with the medals he won at a local sports day.
