In Mr. Herron’s class last week we did printing and we had a great time. We did lots of different kinds of printing. The types of printing were: Monoprinting, Block printing and Lino printing. We rolled paint onto plastic, designed our picture and then pressed the paper onto it before peeling it back and revealing the print. It was very messy. We did lots of different pictures. We did lots of different patterns. We used different types of paper and different colours of paint such as: black, red, green and blue. We put our finished prints on big coloured backing paper. It took us almost all day long but it was worth it because it was really, really, really fun. Mr. Herron is a great teacher for letting us have fun!

Mr. McGuinn’s class were printing too! Here’s Eddie’s description of how they did reflective lake pictures.
“We painted a reflection of a lake by printing. First we folded our page. Next we painted the lake. Then we painted the grass and trees and the sun. Then we folded it again and pushed it down. When we opened the page and we got our reflection.”
Ola!! In Ms. Halpin's class we have been learning about Spain’s country and culture. The colours of the Spanish flag represent generosity (red) and bravery and strength (yellow). As you can see in the picture, Jane is wearing a beautiful red Flamenco dress that the Spanish women would wear during the many festivals. One very famous festival is called the San Fermin or some people like to call it The Bull Run and Alison is wearing the typical red and white outfit. The boys are dressed in Spanish/Barcelona shirts to represent the different sports in Spain we discussed.
Ms Halpin also shared stories about the Basque Country and how they wanted to be their own country and to have their own Independence. Here we see Molly, Eoin, Rachel and Ciarán holding the Basque Flag with a picture of the Basque people enjoying their own festival. “Gora Euskalherria” means “Up the Basque Country”
Mr. Desmond's class has been learning about Spain and we did projects. You can see them on our corridor. We learned a Spanish song called La Bamba. We also did umbrella art. It was really cool. We learned about decimals and multiplication, but sometimes it’s hard. We learned a lot of Irish words called briathra. We learned Mary had a little lamb on recorder. We did some composing with musical instruments. Mr.Desmond recorded us.We learned poems about a snowman in a freezer and a boy called Wee Hughie.
